Joint Committee on Lords Reform hears from Graham Allen MP and top Clerks

The Committee are expected to ask the witnesses for their views on the likely impact of the Bill on the relationship between the two Houses, including the primacy of the House of Commons. Graham Allen MP, Chair of the Commons Political and Constitutional Reform Committee, suggested in his written evidence that the reforms could produce a 'constitutional time-bomb'.

The Committee are expected to ask the Clerk of the Parliaments for his views on the impact on the House of Lords administration of the introduction of elected Members, and the transition arrangements proposed in the draft Bill.
Witnesses
The evidence sessions will start at 4.30pm on Monday 23 January 2012 in Committee Room 4A of the House of Lords. The timings of the sessions are:

- 6:15pm – Robert Rogers, Clerk of the House of Commons and Jacqy Sharpe, Clerk of Legislation
