Committee questions Chief Executive of Premier League

On 29 July 2011, the Committee published a report into Football Governance. The Government's Response was published on 12 October 2011. Subsequently, on 9 March 2012, the Football Association, National Game, Premier League and Football League published a Joint response to the Government, which failed to engage with several of the Committee's key recommendations.

The Government's failure to engage with the recommendations elicited disappointed comments from - in particular - supporters' groups. The Committee received comments on the Joint response from Supporters Direct, Cardiff City Supporters' Trust, Leeds United Supporters' Trust, Football Club United of Manchester, the Foxes Trust (a supporters' group for Leicester City) and individual supporters Mark Jordan and Peter Hodge.
The Committee is now holding a short inquiry to follow up on the findings of the Football Governance inquiry. In the first of two evidence sessions, on 10 July the Committee will be able to discuss the Premier League's perspective on the football licensing model, reform of the FA Board and the representative nature of the National Game Board, amongst other issues.
