Committee continues to investigate Olympic Security shortfall

Following its oral evidence from Nick Buckles, Chief Executive of G4S, in which the extent of the shortfall in security personnel for the Olympic Games became clear, the Home Affairs Committee will take further evidence on 4 and 11 September 2012.
The Chair of the Home Affairs Committee has written to the following witnesses to call for oral evidence:
Tuesday 4 September:

- Stephen Greenhalgh, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime

Tuesday 11 September:

- Paul Deighton, CEO, London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG)
- Charles Farr OBE, Director, Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism
The Committee has written to the Home Secretary to call for the report by HM Inspector of Constabulary into Olympic security; and to LOCOG to call for the report by the consultancy firm Deloitte into G4S’s work on the Olympics contract.
The Committee has also written to Paul Deighton, Chief Executive of LOCOG; James Brokenshire MP the Minister of Crime and Security; and the Home Secretary requesting additional information.
