The Committee will ask Professor Holtham about how Scottish independence might affect Wales and the rest of the UK. The economic links between Wales and Scotland will be explored, and other issues that will be discussed include foreign investments in Scotland and how assets and liabilities might be divided between an independent Scotland and the rest of the UK.

• Would Scottish independence affect the underlying growth rate of its economy and that of the rest of the UK?
• Would it be feasible for Scotland to have a separate immigration policy to the UK? Could Wales benefit from setting its own immigration policy?
• Would Scotland’s currency choice affect the Welsh economy?
• Would Scottish independence create an agenda for more devolved powers in Wales and Northern Ireland?
