MPs to look into anti-social behaviour
15 June 2012
The Home Affairs Committee will take evidence on anti-social behaviour.
Tuesday 19 June 2012 at 12.00 am
Committee Room 15, Palace of Westminster
The Committee will hear evidence on the Government’s White Paper, Putting Victims First.
Witnesses:
12.00pm
- Chief constable Simon Cole
- Inspector Steve Riley, Leicestershire Police
Committee Chair Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:
"No one should have to put up with abusive behaviour in their neighbourhood or with drunk disorder when they visit their town centre.
Despite an arsenal of powers to deal with anti-social behaviour, we are still letting down victims and failing to rehabilitate offenders.
It is now five years on since the tragic death of Fiona Pilkington. We look forward to hearing from Chief constable Simon Cole and Inspector Steve Riley on what lessons they have learned and whether they believe the Government’s new community trigger will help or hinder police forces"
