Home Affairs Committee to hear from Border Force

The Home Affairs Committee takes evidence from Brian Moore, Director-General, of the new Border Force about the reasons for the current problems at passport control.
The Border Force was created in March 2012. The Home Affairs Committee’s last report on the UK Border Agency was published on 11 April.

Committee Chair Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:
"Brian Moore has been at the helm of the new Border Force for two months. In that time we have heard reports of continuing low staff morale and seen the effects of the problems at passport control.
As we heard last week from airport operators, airlines and Border Force staff unions, this cannot continue. We will be questioning Mr Moore on the action he has taken to resolve this situation.
We will also be asking him about longer-terms issues such as the 'Lille loophole' and the role of the forthcoming Border Policing Command in the National Crime Agency."
