Committee take evidence on Ensuring Quality Standards of Legislation

The Political and Constitutional Reform Committee will begin its scrutiny of the processes by which Parliament and Government can ensure standards in the drafting of legislation.

The purpose of this session is to hear from a former member of the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel on this issue. 

The session will examine the current processes for common legislative standards and proposals for how they could be further developed.

This is the first session of the Committee’s inquiry into ensuring standards in the quality of legislation.
