The Treasury Committee will take evidence on the Government's stakes in RBS and Lloyds on Tuesday 15 May 2012 at 10am in the Thatcher Room, Portcullis House.

Chair's Comments

"We want to make sure all of the options are considered and the long-term interests of the consumer, as well as those of the taxpayer, are high up on the Government's agenda.

The Committee has repeatedly called for greater competition in retail banking. The structure of the market needs to be considered as well as the revenue."
