Chair's comments

Committee Chair Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:

“Before the current and former Chief Executive give evidence, we will be hearing first-hand from a provider of support services for the victims of grooming, who has been voicing concerns about the situation for several years.

The Safeguarding Board Report identifies many of the failings in Rochdale at an institutional level; Ms Rowbotham will tell the Committee about her professional experience of trying to get the authorities to intervene in support of the victims.”
