Chair's comments

Committee Chair Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:

"The Chief Inspector has recently produced two damning reports on the Agency's failures, on the asylum backlog and on student visas.

He found that the Agency had misled the Committee over the scale of the asylum backlog and security checks carried out on cases placed in the controlled archive. We will be using this opportunity to hear from him first-hand about the problems with the Agency before we see the Chief Executive, Rob Whiteman, on 18 December."
