On Wednesday 21 November, Commissioner Adrian Leppard of the City of London Police will appear before the House of Lords Justice, Institutions and Consumer Protection EU Sub-Committee, as part of its inquiry into combating fraud and irregularities against the EU’s finances.

He will be joined in the session by Stephen Harrison, Chief Executive of the National Fraud Authority.

The Committee will be addressing a number of issues with the witnesses, including:

  • the extent to which the City of London Police, as the National Lead Force for fraud, dealt with fraud against the EU’s budget and the state of its relationship with OLAF;
  • if the UK takes the issue of fraud against the EU seriously enough and how effective they are in preventing, detecting and combating it; and
  • the relationships with EUROPOL, EUROJUST and OLAF and what roles they play in any British cases of fraud against the EU.

The evidence session will take place on Wednesday 21 November at 4.05pm in Committee Room 1.
