- Lord Turner, Chairman of the Financial Services Authority
Adair Turner, Baron Turner of Ecchinswell, was appointed Chairman of the Financial Services Authority in September 2008. He became a cross-bench member of the House of Lords in 2005. Until September 2008 Lord
Turner was a non-executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank; from 2000-2006 he was a Senior Adviser, Vice-Chairman of Merrill Lynch Europe, and from 1995-99, Director General of the Confederation of British Industry. He was Chairman of the Pensions Commission from 2003 - 2006, and of the Low Pay Commission from 2002 - 2006.
- Andrew Bailey, Managing Director of the Prudential Business Unit of the Financial Services Authority
Mr Bailey is a voting member of the interim Financial Policy Committee. Prior to joining the FSA he worked at the Bank of England in a number of areas, most recently as Executive Director for Banking Services and Chief Cashier, as well as Head of the Bank’s Special Resolution Unit (SRU), where throughout the crisis he was responsible for the Bank’s special operations to resolve problems in the banking sector. Previous roles include Governor’s Private Secretary, and Head of the International Economic Analysis Division in Monetary Analysis.
