Purpose of the Session

This is the second formal session of oral evidence in the Committee's inquiry into Careers Guidance for Young People. The aim of the first session was to examine the different responses by schools to their new duty. The second session's aim is to explore the views of careers guidance providers to the transfer in responsibility for guidance activities  and how the changes will impact on young people.

The first panel is comprised of representatives from schools including an Academy (11-18 years), an 11-16 school, and a special school. The Association of School and College Leaders is represented by its General Secretary. The second panel is made up of representatives from career guidance organisations and academics in the field of career advice and guidance.
