Nick Hurd questioned on the Charities Act 2006

This is the final session of the Public Administration Select Committee’s (PASC’s) post-legislative scrutiny inquiry into the implementation and operation of the Charities Act 2006. The Committee will hear first from the Chair and Chief Executive of the Charity Commission for England and Wales on the Commission’s role, responsibilities and funding. In the second part of the session, Members will question Nick Hurd MP, the Minister for Civil Society, on how the Government will respond to the recommendations made by Lord Hodgson of Astley Abbotts in his review of the Charities Act 2006.

Particular issues to be explored may include:
- The income threshold for the register of charities
- the Charity Commission’s approach to public benefit and religious charities; and
