Virgin Media and independent producers to be grilled on media convergence

On Tuesday 20 November, in the fifth evidence session of their inquiry into media convergence, the Lords Communications Committee will put questions to two representatives from the independent production sector and, following on, a representative from Virgin Media.

At 3.30pm
  • Ms Jane Turton, Chief Operating Officer, All3Media, and PACT Council Member; and
  • Mr Wil Stephens, Founder of Cube Interactive, and PACT Council Member

The witnesses will be questioned on issues including the impact of convergence on content creation and the independent production sector in the UK.

At 4.30pm
  • Mr Hugo Lindsay, Director of Regulatory Affairs, Virgin Media

Having heard from BT and BSkyB last week, the Committee will explore the challenges and opportunities brought about by convergence for another of the major commercial providers of media and telecommunications services in the UK.
