Put your questions via Twitter to Cabinet Minister Francis Maude

Next week, on Wednesday 28 November 2012, the Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) will be taking evidence from the Minister for the Cabinet Office, the Rt Hon Francis Maude MP, as part of its inquiry into how the government engages people in policy making. The Committee is today launching a Twitter hashtag - #AskMaude - where you can submit the questions that you think the Committee should ask the Minister about how people can get involved in policy-making .
Among the questions the Committee wants to answer with this inquiry:
- How do the models of policy-making currently used in Government encourage or discourage members of the public from getting involved?
- What advantages and disadvantages are there to greater public engagement in policy-making?
- What are the best ways to get people engage with policymaking?
- How should the Government measure the success or failure of public engagement?
- Will "contestable" (out-sourced) models of policy-making provide greater opportunities for public engagement in the process?
During Parliament Week this week the Committee is asking people to submit their thoughts and questions via the #AskMaude hashtag – some of the questions will then be put to the Minister when he appears before the Committee next week. Submit your questions by the weekend to have a chance to have them asked live in the evidence session, which will be webcast on the Parliament site on Parliament TV.
Submissions have already begun on the #AskMaude hashtag, and discussion of some of these issues is ongoing on #openpolicy
