Oral evidence: Constitutional convention for UK? and quality of legislation

The Political and Constitutional Reform Committee will hold a double evidence session on its inquiries into Do we need a constitutional convention for the UK? and then Ensuring standards in the quality of legislation.

The purpose of the fifth session is to hear evidence from those with direct experience of developing constitutional reform proposals and to explore whether there is a need for a new constitutional settlement for the UK.
The Committee will then hold the sixth evidence session of its inquiry into Ensuring standards in the quality of legislation.

The purpose of the evidence session is to consider the role of the Law Commission in ensuring legislative standards and to examine the relationship between the Law Commission and Parliament, and the Law Commission and the Government in the creation of legislation.
