The Committee has also invited advisor to the victims’ families Lord Falconer, and representatives of the victims’ families to give evidence to the Committee on what steps should be taken regarding issues concerning the police following the Hillsborough Independent Panel Report.

Committee Chair Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:

“It is imperative that justice is done for the victims and their families.

The Committee will be seeking assurances that South Yorkshire police are taking action to ensure officers who have committed alleged wrong-doing are investigated.

We also want to ensure the views of the victims’ families on the matter are acted upon.”
