This is the fifth session in the Committee's inquiry into Ensuring Standards in the Quality of Legislation.
The Committee is continuing their Inquiry into Ensuring Standards in the Quality of Legislation, and will be hearing from the Rt Hon Nick Raynsford MP, Lord Maclennan of Rogart and Lord Norton of Louth. The Committee will be discussing the practical and political realities of establishing a Legislative Standards Committee, as well as considering whether such a Committee should be created. The idea of different types of legislation being subject to different methods of scrutiny will also be examined, in particular, legislation of constitutional importance and how such legislation can or should be defined.
