Committee Chairman Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:
“The Committee will round off its inquiry into e-crime by taking evidence from the cyber security industry. We will hear from Art Coviello, the Executive Chairman of RSA; Symantec, a global leader in security solutions and anti-virus software, and Professor Norton, of Engineering the Future.
These organisations are on the front line in defending our computer systems from cyber attack. RSA neutralised one cyber attack a minute in June-July last year and Symantec blocked 5.5 billion attempted attacks in 2011. We will hear from Mr Coviello about the approach of the Obama administration to tackling cybercrime. We will also hear how the threats are evolving and the new ways in which fraudsters are using popular social networks to advertise fraud ‘as a service’."
