Priorities for the new Director-General of the BBC

On 2 April Lord Hall started as the BBC’s new Director-General. The Committee is holding an early evidence session with him to consider his priorities for the next few months. It will give members of the Committee an opportunity to examine areas of current interest with him and the Chairman of the BBC Trust. Lord Hall has rejoined the BBC after 12 years, having left in 2001 to run the Royal Opera House

The Committee expects to hold a further session with Lord Hall later in the year to consider the BBC’s annual report and accounts for 2012-13, and the Director-General’s longer-term plans for the Corporation.
