Young people's views on school sports following London 2012

The Education Committee launches a short online survey for all young people on its website. The survey will be running until 24 May.
The Committee will also be starting a Twitter conversation with young people, asking if the Olympics inspired them to do more sport in school.

Further questions will be asked as the discussion develops.
Launching this initiative Committee Chairman, Graham Stuart MP, said: “We are keen to hear about young people’s experiences of school sports and their thoughts on the Olympic and Paralympic legacy. What we learn from the survey and the Twitter conversation will help inform our inquiry into this important subject. It would be great to hear from as many young people as possible so we gather the whole range of views and opinions.”
To help launch its inquiry into school sports following London 2012, the Committee is also today visiting three schools in East London where the MPs will hear directly from pupils of the schools as well as teachers and coaches and see PE and sport being taught in the schools.

As part of the same inquiry a parallel survey is also seeking the views of teachers about school sports in reference to the Olympic and Paralympic legacy.
