MPs question television and printed media on women and sport
3 December 2013
The Culture, Media and Sport Committee will hold its second oral evidence session for its Women and Sport inquiry on Tuesday 3 December.
The Culture, Media and Sport Committee announced an inquiry into women and sport on 26 July 2013, to look into a number of issues that are currently raising concerns. The successes of Team GB’s female athletes in the Olympics last year should have resulted in greater prominence for women’s sporting achievements and encouraged more girls and women to participate in sport. However, it appears that women’s sport still faces a number of disadvantages compared with sport for men.
This second session will focus on how television and the printed media promote women’s sport.
