Women and Sport evidence
MPs question governing bodies on Women and Sport
10 December 2013
The Culture, Media and Sport Committee will hold its third oral evidence session for its Women and Sport inquiry on Tuesday 10 December.
The Culture, Media and Sport Committee announced an inquiry into women and sport on 26 July 2013, to look into a number of issues that are currently raising concerns. The successes of Team GB’s female athletes in the Olympics last year should have resulted in greater prominence for women’s sporting achievements and encouraged more girls and women to participate in sport. However, it appears that women’s sport still faces a number of disadvantages compared with sport for men.
