The Committee will hear from a number of chief executives, chairs, and trustees of charities and charity sector umbrella bodies.

Particular issues to be explored may include:

• public opinion on levels of charity chief executive pay;
• the role of a charity chief executive in charities of different size and scope;
• the factors used by charity trustees to determine chief executive salaries; and
• the role of the Charity Commission and current reporting rules for transparency on pay levels;

The evidence session will form part of the Committee’s ongoing work considering the regulation of charities. PASC has responsibility for scrutinising the work of the regulator of the charity sector, the Charity Commission, and the government department responsible for charity policy, the Cabinet Office.
