MPs to take evidence on bovine TB and Schmallenberg

On Tuesday 12 February The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee will hold the first evidence session of its inquiry into the vaccination of badgers and cattle against bovine TB.

The first part of the session will primarily focus on the effectiveness of the injectable BCG vaccine for badgers and the work FERA are undertaking under the Badger Vaccine Deployment Project (BVDP) in Gloucestershire.
The second part of the session will focus on the Schmallenberg virus.
The evidence on bovine TB from Professor Glyn Hewinson, Chief Scientist, Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA), will be rescheduled for a later date.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday 12 February at 3.15pm in Committee Room 16, Palace of Westminster.
