Evidence sessions announced for scrutiny of proposed State Pension reforms

The Work and Pensions Select Committee has today announced oral evidence sessions for its pre-legislative scrutiny of Part 1 of the draft Bill relating to the establishment of a single-tier State Pension.

Details of the sessions are as follows

All meetings will be in a House of Commons Committee room and will be held in  public. All dates, times and witness details are subject to confirmation:

Time/date: Wednesday 27 February at 9.30 am
Witnesses: Age UK, Carers UK, Dr Ros Altmann, independent expert and former Government pensions policy adviser and TUC;
(at 10.30 am)  Institute for Fiscal Studies, Baroness Hollis of Heigham,  Pensions Policy Institute,  Prof Jay Ginn, Women’s Budget Group

Time/date: Monday 4 March at 4.30 pm
Witnesses: Association of British Insurers, National Association of Pension Funds; Confederation of British Industry and Institute of Directors (at 5.30 pm).

Witness: Steve Webb MP, Minister for Pensions, DWP.
