Food Security. The Prime Minister recently announced that the UK will host a special event on hunger and malnutrition before the G8 summit; additionally, a joint campaign on food has been launched by 112 NGOs. In the light of these events, the session provides an opportunity for the Committee to explore some of the long-term issues relating to the global supply of and demand for food. The first panel is made up of NGO representatives, whilst the second panel consists of leading academics.
