Rural communities: localism and 'big society' evidence session

The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee will hold two further evidence sessions in relation to its Rural Communities inquiry.

Wednesday 16 January

The first evidence session, on 16 January, will focus on the ability of rural communities to take control of their own futures and the range of Government initiatives aimed at encouraging and supporting communities to do this.

The meeting will take place as follows on Wednesday 16 January, in Committee Room 16, Palace of Westminster.

Tuesday 29 January 

The second evidence session, on 29 January, will be the final session of the rural communities inquiry. It will give the Committee the opportunity to question the Minister responsible for Rural Affairs on the success of the RCPU in acting as rural champion in the heart of government, and its effectiveness in delivering rural development.

The meeting will take place as follows on Tuesday 29 January, in Committee Room 16, Palace of Westminster.
