At 3.30 pm:

• Ms Lara Fielden

Ms Fielden has conducted research into media convergence, arguing that the current regulatory framework for UK media - separating broadcast, newspaper and online content - has run its course. The Committee will explore her proposals for a new regulatory settlement across the media.

At 4.30 pm, from ITV:

• Mr Simon Pitts, Director of Strategy and Transformation
• Mr Magnus Brooke, Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs

The Committee will explore the challenges and opportunities brought about by convergence for ITV and public service broadcasters (PSBs) more widely.

In particular, the Committee will consider how convergence will affect the content we see on our screens and how it is delivered to us, as well as ultimately, what the implications of all of this will be for the evolving role of PSBs and the wider media world to which they belong.

The evidence sessions will take place on Tuesday 15 January from 3.30 pm in Committee Room 2, House of Lords.
