Witnessses

At 3.30 pm

  • Mr Richard Hooper CBE
  • Mr Philip Graf CBE

Currently engaged respectively as Chairman of the Broadband Stakeholder Group and Chairman of the Gambling Commission, Mr Hooper and Mr Graf have an enormous breadth of experience across media policy and regulation. The Committee will invite their personal views on the public policy impact of media convergence and in particular on a number of the proposals that have been made during the inquiry to bring media regulation up to date in its wake.

At 4.30 pm

  • Mr Ed Richards, Chief Executive, Ofcom

Mr Richards will answer the Committee's questions on the impact of convergence on a range of areas of public policy interest; from the scrutiny of competition in converging markets, to the prospects for license-based broadcast regulation and a variety of alternative recommendations which the Committee have received for reform of the content standards framework.

The evidence sessions will take place on Tuesday 29 January from 3.30 pm in Committee Room 2, House of Lords.
