The EU Select Committee held an oral evidence session as part of the EU enlargement inquiry on Tuesday 8 January in Committee Room 4. The Committee heard evidence from Mr Richard Howitt MEP.

Areas covered in the questioning included;

  • The likely course of the EU enlargement progress over the next decade;
  • Whether there are any further countries that may be granted an EU perspective in the near future; and
  • What 'integration capacity' barrriers may need to be overcome in the medium and long term.
