UK's relations with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain inquiry begins

This is the first in a series of oral evidence sessions for the Committee’s inquiry.
The first panel will consider the UK Government’s policies for the Gulf, its interests and relationships in the region generally and its approach to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in particular. In the second panel the Committee will focus on the UK’s long and evolving bilateral relationship with Bahrain, as well as the UK Government's response to the recent protests and instability in Bahrain.
It is expected that future evidence sessions will focus upon other aspects of the inquiry, including trade, defence and human rights. Witnesses will be confirmed and announced nearer the time.
