  • Sir John Vickers, Former Chairman of the Independent Commission on Banking

Sir John Vickers chaired the Independent Commission on Banking, which produced recommendations including a ring-fence for UK banks in September 2011. The first report of the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards, published in December 2012, scrutinised the draft Bill giving effect to many of the ICB's recommendations. Sir John will give evidence on issues arising from the first report, including electrification of the ring-fence and the question of supplementing the ring-fence with a UK version of the Volcker rule. He will also give evidence on competition in banking.
