DFID's Annual Report and Accounts 2012-13: new inquiry

The International Development Committee is to conduct its annual inquiry into the Department for International Development's Annual Report and Accounts 2012-13.

Invitation to submit written evidence

The Committee invites short written submissions from interested organisations and individuals, on the Annual Report, especially on the following areas:

  • Trends in DFID's expenditure and total UK ODA, including-the split between bilateral and multilateral expenditure-administration expenditure   
  • DFID's ability to meet the 0.7% target and the implications for the future
  • DFID's ability to spend the large increase in its 2013-14 budget efficiently and effectively
  • DFID's ability to manage its bilateral spending through contractors, multilaterals and NGOs
  • Whether DFID's current staffing levels are adequate, whether staff have the right skills and whether length of postings are appropriate
  • Whether restrictions on DFID's administrative expenditure are affecting the quality of DFID's work and value for money

The Committee invites short written submissions from interested organisations and individuals. The deadline for these is 10 October 2013.

Written evidence submitted should:

  • Have a one page summary at the front
  • Be no longer than 3000 words in length
  • Have numbered paragraphs
  • Avoid the use of colour or expensive-to-print material
