The Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, is to appear before the House of Lords EU Sub-Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs on Tuesday 23 July, as part of its third update evidence session on the euro area crisis.

Witnesses

Tuesday 23 July 2013, Committe Room 3, Palace of Westminster

10am:

  • Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury
  • Harold Freeman, Deputy Director, EU Institutions and Policy

The Committee will ask the Minister if he can foresee an “endgame” to the euro area crisis, and whether enough is being done to stimulate growth, promote competitiveness and tackle youth unemployment.

The Lords will also ask Mr Clark if he fears that the relationship between euro area members and non-euro area members is becoming more strained as a result of deeper euro area integration. The Treasury Minister will also be questioned on the draft EU budget for 2014.

The evidence session is one of the Committee’s regular six-monthly follow-ups to its original report on the euro area crisis, published in February 2012.
