The House of Lords European Union Committee's Annual Report will be debated on Tuesday 30 July 2013.

The Report provides an overview of the work of the Committee and its six Sub-Committees during the 2012-13 Session, which ran from 9 May 2012 to 25 April 2013. It highlights some of the key policies examined through scrutiny work and inquiries, reflects on the Committee's work with the EU institutions and other national parliaments, and gives a forward look at the work being undertaken during the 2013-14 Session.

The Committee examined and highlighted policy areas that have the potential to support economic growth, such as research and innovation and energy, and scrutinised policies responding to the economic and financial crisis, such as banking union and proposals for a Financial Transaction Tax.
