Committee to hear evidence on the Work Programme in Wales

The Welsh Affairs Committee will hold its final evidence session for its inquiry into the Work Programme in Wales on Wednesday 3 July 2013. The Committee will hear from the Minister for Employment, Mr Mark Hoban MP, on the performance of the Work Programme in Wales to date.

The session follows today’s release of the Government’s second set of official data about the performance of the Work Programme.
The Government introduced the Work Programme to help long-term unemployed people find work and come off unemployment benefits. It replaced a number of existing programmes, including the remaining New Deals; the Flexible New Deal; and Pathways to Work, the previous scheme for incapacity benefits claimants.
