The House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee will today take evidence from officials from HM Treasury and HM Revenue and Customs as part of their inquiry into corporate taxation

The Committee will question the witnesses on the Chancellor’s proposal to ‘name and shame’ promoters of tax avoidance schemes, statements from HMRC that it had recovered £23bn in additional tax from big business in the last three years and whether the distinction in the tax code between debt and equity should be reviewed.

  • Edward Troup, Tax Assurance Commissioner and Second Permanent Secretary, HM Revenue and Customs.
