Evidence session: The Work Programme in Wales

The Welsh Affairs Committee will hold a second evidence session for its inquiry into the Work Programme in Wales on Tuesday 4 June 2013 at 9.30am.

The Committee will hear from subcontractors who deliver the Work Programme in Wales. They are based in the public and voluntary/charitable sectors and deliver the Work Programme in North, Mid and South Wales.
The Government introduced the Work Programme to help long-term unemployed people find work and come off unemployment benefits. It replaced a number of existing programmes, including the remaining New Deals; the Flexible New Deal; and Pathways to Work, the previous scheme for incapacity benefits claimants.
