Education Committee cancels evidence session on School Direct Recruitment

The one-off evidence session announced for 9 July 2013 into School Direct recruitment for 2013/14 has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Instead, the Committee will explore issues relating to this subject during the evidence session planned for the autumn as part of its follow up to the 2012 report on Great Teachers: Attracting, training and retaining the best.
The Committee apologises to individuals and organisations who had prepared submissions on the administration of the application process for School Direct teacher training places to start in the academic year 2013/14 to meet the deadline of Monday 1 July 2013.
Any comments on this subject are still welcome and will be used to inform the autumn sessions. The deadline is extended until Monday 8 July.
