Forthcoming evidence session into the role of Jobcentre Plus

The Work and Pensions Select Committee has today announced the first of six planned oral evidence sessions for its inquiry into the role of Jobcentre Plus (JCP) in the reformed welfare system.

Inquiry
The inquiry will consider the effectiveness of JCP as a public employment service, including its role as the gateway to contracted-out provision such as Flexible Support Fund contracts, the Work Programme and Work Choice. It will also consider the potential impacts on JCP of welfare reforms, including the roll out of Universal Credit and the introduction of a household Benefit Cap.
The Committee issued terms of reference for this inquiry on 19 April 2013.
