The Committee has received a large number of representations on the proposals in the Government’s consultation paper on Transforming legal aid: delivering a more credible and efficient system, including many copies of responses made to the Ministry of Justice. The Committee regrets that, given the number of such representations, it is not possible for it to acknowledge or respond individually to all of them, but the Committee would like to make clear that they will all be taken into account in the Committee’s work on this subject.
Members of the public are very welcome to attend the meeting. There is no system of tickets or advance booking for seats in the public part of the committee room. Normally there is no problem in seating all members of the public who wish to attend, but there is expected to be considerable interest in this meeting.
