Committee publishes note on negative interest rates

Commenting on this note, the Chairman of the Treasury Select Committee, Andrew Tyrie MP, said:
It is right that the Monetary Policy Committee should consider a wide range of options on monetary policy.
The Treasury Committee will look at this radical suggestion in detail, as well as the new remit handed to the MPC by the Chancellor, when we conduct our inquiry into monetary policy.
