The Political and Constitutional Reform Committee is to hold the first in a series of oral evidence sessions into what smaller-scale changes to the membership and structure of the House of Lords would be likely to command a consensus.

In the first session, to be held on 6 June, the Committee will hear from two peers, Lord Steel of Aikwood and Baroness Hayman, who have been at the forefront of efforts to advance smaller-scale changes.
