Further evidence on House of Lords reform: what next?

The Political and Constitutional Reform Committee is to hold its penultimate oral evidence session into what smaller-scale changes to the membership and structure of the House of Lords would be likely to command a consensus.

Three specialists on House of Lords reform are due to explain which smaller-scale reforms they think are important to implement and why. The Committee will also hear separately from Lord Jay, the current Chairman of the House of Lords Appointments Commission on proposals for a creation of a new statutory Appointments Commission which would have more powers and a wider remit than the current Commission.
