Committee holds seminar on the UK's 2014 opt-out decision

The EU Committee held a seminar on 26 June 2013 on its report on 'EU police and criminal justice measures: The UK’s 2014 opt-out decision' (13th Report of Session 2012-13, HL Paper 159), which was published on 23 April.

The seminar was chaired by Lord Boswell of Aynho, Chairman of the European Union Committee, and included the following speakers:

  • James Brokenshire MP, Security Minister, Home Office
  • Emma Reynolds MP, Shadow Minister for Europe
  • Helen Malcolm QC, Chair of the Bar Council’s EU Criminal Law Sub-Committee
  • Martin Howe QC, former member of the Commission on a Bill of Rights
