MPs take evidence on the Work Programme in Wales

The Welsh Affairs Committee will hold its first evidence session for its new inquiry into the Work Programme in Wales on Tuesday 19 March 2013

The Committee will hear from Work Programme providers and charities about how successful the Work Programme has been in Wales since its launch in June 2011.
The Government introduced the Work Programme to help long-term unemployed people find work and come off unemployment benefits. It replaced a number of existing programmes, including the remaining New Deals; the Flexible New Deal; and Pathways to Work, the previous scheme for incapacity benefits claimants.
