On this occasion the questioning will focus on two themes as follows:

Protecting the public: the Government's role and accountability

• Food quality:  lessons from the horsemeat scandal; the role of the Food Standards Agency; testing capacity; the responsibilities of departmental chief scientific advisers; food prices and food poverty.
• Railways: lessons from the InterCity West Coast franchise competition; Government policy on franchising; rolling stock and private sector finance.
• Accountability:  Civil Service performance and the capacity to learn from failures; accountability for major projects; the role of No. 10.

Developments in Syria and North and West Africa

• The situation in Syria: the UK's diplomatic response and the supply of non-lethal equipment, and multilateral relief for the humanitarian crisis.
• The situation in Mali and its surrounding region: diplomatic approaches, and the UK's deployment of UK Armed Forces to assist military training; the terrorist threat.
• The Sahel: development issues and women's rights.
