Evidence session on the Work Programme announced

On Wednesday 13 March the Work and Pensions Select Committee will hear evidence from employers on their engagement with the Work Programme, the Government’s contracted employment programme which is designed to help a wide range of long-term unemployed people return to sustained work.
The Work Programme was launched in June 2011. The Committee published a report on the design and commissioning of the Work Programme in May 2011 (PDF 2.17MB).
This will be the fifth oral evidence session in the Committee’s current inquiry into the Work Programme, which is following up some of the issues raised in its 2011 report. The Committee is focusing on the quality of Work Programme services and the experience of different user groups, particularly those who may be considered to be harder to help into sustained employment.
Evidence sessions are held in a House of Commons Committee room and open to the public.
